Stuck with my plan to work on speed today.  I hit some 7 irons to get warmed up and my average swing speed is 88mph.

I’m just getting started on a speed training plan.  I’m using a great program provided by SuperSpeed Golf.  This program utilizes what is called overspeed training to basically get everything in the swing going faster.  I hope to train faster than I’m currently moving to pick up speed.  Swing speed = potential distance increase.  Of course, I’ll still need to hit the ball squarely.  I’m up to the challenge.

As I said before, I’m just starting the program so I’m currently in the Starter Protocol.  Here’s the plan:

Position Sets Reps
Standing THREE – Light, Medium, and Heavy Clubs THREE on the dominant side and THREE on the non-dominant with each club
Step-Change THREE – Light, Medium, and Heavy Clubs THREE on the dominant side and THREE on the non-dominant with each club
Standing ONE THREE swings as aggressively as possible
